Amnesty International is using Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay to promote the injustice and human rights violations taking place at Guantanamo Bay.
An email from Amnesty International states that:
“Sami al Hajj, a Sudanese news cameraman, has been held in Guantánamo for over 5 years. He’s been abused, intimidated and beaten. He has never been charged with a crime. Like all Guantánamo detainees, he cannot challenge his detention in a fair court.”
Former US secretary of state Colin Powell has stated that “If it were up to me I would close Guantánamo not tomorrow but this afternoon . . . Essentially, we have shaken the belief that the world had in America’s justice system . . . and it’s causing us far more damage than any good we get from it.”
Amnesty International is urging the United States to close Guantanamo to stop these atrocious human rights abuses. If you plan on seeing Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, please think about passing out these flyers denouncing the human rights abuses taking place at Guantanamo and calling for its immediate closure.
