It was bound to happen. The consumer advocate behemoth has come out of his place of hibernation and unleashed his wrath on Toyota. The gloves have come off as Ralph Nader has come out swinging by accusing Toyota of an “unseemly coverup” in their recalled vehicles. Don’t worry because there’s plenty of blame to go around.
The man responsible for bringing auto safety to the forefront in the United States – most famously the Corvair – is urging President Obama to increase funding for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which he says is “not supported by the White House over the years” and “didn’t have enough data, enough analysis to catch this problem.”
Seems like there’s some ‘splaining to do! Mr. Nader is also urging Canadian officials to look into the problem with Toyotas sold north of the border, eh!
