Worst. Oil Spill. Ever.

Congratulations to BP for supplanting the Exxon Valdez oil spill with its own to become the worst one in US history. Hey, someone was bound to break that record at the rate we were going.

The NY Times reports that estimates now show 12,000 to 19,000 barrels of oil are pouring into the Gulf of Mexico region, which “is two to five times higher than the 5,000 barrels a day figure given by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration” and “establishes the oil spill as the largest in American history.”

  1. horrible, and the worst part is nothing will be done, it happened and it cannot be reversed at all, their is no money and science going into how to clean up externalized problems, just how to keep risking larger and larger ones in an effort to produce small new amounts of profits
