It doesn’t look like former U.S. president George W. Bush will be planning a trip to Switzerland any time soon. My friend Kristen, over at the Daily Dorkmonger, explains why.
Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense during W’s tenure, will probably not be visiting Switzerland either. You can read why here (hint: it’s the same reason why Bush won’t be visiting either).
Rumsfeld may be in denial about his use of torture, but I’m sure the men who had to endure the use of his authorizing the use of “mild, non-injurious physical contact” may beg to differ. As Kristen points out, Bush’s “recent book is basically a signed confession” of his authorizing the use of torture.
Unfortunately, justice was not able to be served since both men will more than likely not go to Switzerland to face the criminal charges that were going to be filed against them.
