Yesterday, I went to the 2019 San Diego Cherry Blossom Festival at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park. I wrote about it last year in Japanese, so I decided to write about this year’s festival in English.

I hosted the event for two of my groups. Leading up to the festival, I was amazed by how many people were planning to come. At one point, I had approximately 100 people who had RSVP’d “yes.” I’m not sure how many of the 100 people actually came to the festival, but my guess is approximately 35-40 people.

Balboa Park was quite crowded yesterday because there was another event going on at the Spreckles Pavilion at the same time. The Cherry Blossom Festival was crowded too, but it was still fun nonetheless to hang out with my friends, in addition to making new friends. I am happy to say that it was quite sunny yesterday. Last year, it rained on the day that I went to the festival, but my friends and I made the most of it. We all had fun yesterday as well as last year.

After the festival, I showed my friends from Irvine around Balboa Park before we grabbed some drinks and went to Mount Soledad to check out the nice view. Finally, we ended the day with a group dinner at a Korean restaurant.
