A few months ago, I was cleaning out my closet when I happened to come across a short story called “Abduction” that I wrote when I was in junior high school. At the time I wrote the story, I was a big fan of a science fiction TV show called The X-Files, which influenced and inspired me to write “Abduction.” I read the story and could only cringe at how poor my writing skills were back then. Not only were there numerous grammatical mistakes, I didn’t develop the story very well.
I have decided to pause my work on a series called “The Bún Riêu Chronicles” that I started writing back in March this year so that I can focus my attention on re-writing “Abduction.” I have been struggling to find ideas to continue writing “The Bún Riêu Chronicles,” which I intended to be five or six parts long, but I have only managed to write three parts at the time of this writing.
The original version of “Abduction” consists of two parts. I plan to keep the updated version as close to the original version, but I will clean up the writing and grammar. I hope that working on “Abduction” will give me inspiration to find ideas that will help me finish writing “The Bún Riêu Chronicles.” If I’m unable to find those ideas, then I will work on other stories until the time is right to properly wrap up “The Bún Riêu Chronicles.”
