A few months ago, I was cleaning out my closet when I happened to come across a short story called “Abduction” that I wrote when I was in junior high school. At the time I wrote the story, I was a big fan of a science fiction TV show called The X-Files, which influenced and inspired me to write “Abduction.” I read “Abduction” again and could only cringe at how poor my writing skills were back then. Not only were there numerous grammatical mistakes, I didn’t develop the story very well.
I have decided to pause my work on a series called “The Bún Riêu Chronicles” that I started writing back in March this year so that I could focus my attention on re-writing “Abduction.” I have been struggling to find ideas to continue writing “The Bún Riêu Chronicles,” which I intended to be five or six parts long, but I have only managed to write three parts at the time of this writing.
The original version of “Abduction” consists of two parts. My goal was to keep the updated version as close to the original as possible, but I had to take some liberties and make some major changes from the original when necessary. The following are links to Part 1 and Part 2 of “Abduction.”
